About Us

The Yorkshire Concertina Club is a get-together of concertina players from all over Yorkshire. Every concertina player is welcomed, no matter what you play, whether it's Anglo, English, or one of the several systems of Duet - or even the newly-invented Martian Three-Handed System much favoured by octopuses .... ..

Doesn't matter whether you're an ace or or a beginner, although the ability to read music would be an advantage. Doesn't matter whether you like trad or jazz or classical. Doesn't matter what size you play. You're still welcome, and during the varied sessions we run throughout the year we're sure you'll find something of interest. Have a go on a different type. Learn a tune. Explore a new repertoire.

Come along and try it! There is a possibility of some informal teaching if this is needed.

You can now hear us on Soundcloud - just type in Yorkshire Concertina Club and hit 'tracks'. There are three tunes from 'Never On Sunday', tunes from Purbeck compiled by Rollo Woods from local manuscripts. This was the result of a great workshop.
